Receives complaints of criminal elder abuse such as physical abuse, neglect, financial abuse, abandonment, isolation, violence, or any other threats.

Public Ministry's Office Elder Abuse Prosecution

If an older person’s rights are infringed upon or violated, as contained in the Constitution, the Public Ministry of the state of São Paulo defends the rights of these senior citizens, as well as regulating and auditing establishments that provide services to the elderly.

Hotline to Report Crimes Against the Elderly

The elder abuse hotline is a specialized service that provides guidance on the rights guaranteed by law to senior citizens. This hotline was established in 1997, with the objectives of; valuing senior citizens, stimulating the development of their capacities (through differentiated and specialized social services) by respecting their limitations and accumulated life experiences. The hotline also provides senior citizens (individuals and groups) with data and information about leisure activities, events and exhibitions, courses and other events for their age group, as well as giving senior citizens guidance on issues relevant to municipal legislation.
